Motorized-bicycle racing is where SoCal GP began.

BicycleMoto is the SGPRA Bike Category for combustion-powered motorized-bicycle race machines that retain genuine independent pedal propulsion and a qualifying bicycle-derived or purpose-built BicycleMoto chassis.

The category includes seven Bike Classes, covering structured ChinaGirl competition, broader Formula development, and the Predator 212 Spec platform.

  • ChinaGirl Super Stock is the most tightly controlled ChinaGirl BicycleMoto class, intended for recognizable ChinaGirl-series machines using bicycle-type tires and a limited induction package. It preserves a relatively simple, accessible configuration while still allowing conventional development within the published Super Stock limits.

    • One carburetor with a maximum 15.0mm controlling bore

  • ChinaGirl Super Sport is the developed bicycle-tire ChinaGirl class. It allows substantially more engine and induction development than Super Stock while retaining recognizable ChinaGirl architecture, bicycle-type tires, and true fixed single-speed propulsion.

  • ChinaGirl Superbike is the motorcycle-tire branch of the ChinaGirl series. It combines developed ChinaGirl engines with motorcycle-type tires while retaining the BicycleMoto family’s required pedal propulsion and fixed single-speed engine-drive architecture.

  • Formula 1 is the highest-capacity and broadest-development Formula BicycleMoto class. Production, hybrid, prototype, one-off, and custom combustion-engine packages may qualify after the complete machine first satisfies BicycleMoto family requirements.

    • 260cc maximum four-stroke displacement

    • Water cooling permitted

    • Broad Formula engine-development freedom

    • True single-speed drive or gearbox positively locked in one declared competition gear

  • Formula 2 is the air-cooled two-stroke Formula class for developed BicycleMoto machines that fall outside the narrower ChinaGirl and 212 Spec categories. Formula permits broad engine origins and development while retaining the BicycleMoto chassis, pedal-propulsion, and fixed-ratio competition architecture.

    Key Class Specifications

    • Two-stroke engines only

    • 100cc maximum actual displacement

    • Air cooling required

    • True single speed or gearbox positively locked in one declared competition gear

    • Seventeen-inch motorcycle tires do not independently disqualify an otherwise eligible machine

    • Complete machine must satisfy BicycleMoto family requirements

    • BicycleMoto minimum rider age: 14

  • Formula 3 is the air-cooled four-stroke Formula class for qualifying BicycleMoto machines using broader Formula engine-development freedom rather than the ChinaGirl or Predator 212 Spec packages.

    • 105cc maximum actual displacement

    • Air cooling required

    • True single speed or gearbox positively locked in one declared competition gear

    • Broad Formula engine-development freedom

    • Complete machine must satisfy BicycleMoto family requirements

  • 212 Spec is a controlled BicycleMoto class built around the Harbor Freight Predator 212 engine platform. Rather than operating as an open-development Formula class, it uses a defined component package intended to keep the engine configuration recognizable and tightly bounded.

    Key Class Specifications

    • Harbor Freight Predator 212 Hemi or Non-Hemi engine required

    • Governor removed

    • 22-pound valve springs

    • ARC billet flywheel required; stock-length ARC billet connecting rod permitted

    • Carburetor limited to 24mm

    • Exhaust 18–24 inches overall with muffler required

    • No other engine modifications, additions, or removals permitted

    • One fixed ratio with required centrifugal clutch; no gearbox, CVT, variator, or torque converter

    • Motorcycle-type tires permitted

    • BicycleMoto minimum rider age: 14

MINIMOTO

Small bikes. Big variety. Purpose-built for close, technical racing.

MiniMoto is the SGPRA Bike Category for combustion-engine small-bike race platforms prepared for paved kart-track and small-course Road Racing.

The category includes seven Bike Classes covering youth stock machines, production street minis, scooters and commuter platforms, MiniMotard conversions, purpose-built MiniGP motorcycles, and approved MiniMoto-scale outliers. Primary platform identity and the applicable class rules determine where a machine belongs.

  • Stock 50 is the entry-level youth Stock Mini class using the incorporated MotoAmerica Mini Cup Stock 50 technical package. It is a closed-rule class: eligible motorcycles, permitted modifications, chassis, engine, wheels, tires, controls, and other technical requirements are determined by the incorporated MotoAmerica Section 4.0 source.

    Key Class Specifications

    • Riders ages 6 through 8 only

    • No adult-category entries

    • Eligible motorcycles are defined by MotoAmerica Mini Cup Championship Regulations Version 7-22-2026, Section 4.0

    • Technical preparation follows the incorporated closed-rule Stock 50 package

    • Changes not authorized by the incorporated package are not automatically permitted

    • No MotoAmerica pathway credit is created by ordinary SGPRA participation

  • Stock 110 is the youth Stock Mini class for eligible 110-platform machines operating under the incorporated MotoAmerica Mini Cup Stock 110 technical package. Like Stock 50, it is a closed-rule class whose eligible motorcycles and permitted preparation are defined by the exact incorporated Section 4.0 source.

    Key Class Specifications

    • Riders ages 8 through 12 only

    • No adult-category entries

    • Eligible motorcycles are defined by MotoAmerica Mini Cup Championship Regulations Version 7-22-2026, Section 4.0

    • Technical preparation follows the incorporated closed-rule Stock 110 package

    • Changes not authorized by the incorporated package are not automatically permitted

    • No MotoAmerica pathway credit is created by ordinary SGPRA participation

  • Street Mini is the modified four-stroke class for recognizable production-derived sport and standard street-mini motorcycles. It provides a home for Grom-style and comparable small street motorcycles while allowing broad race preparation without losing the machine’s underlying production identity.

    Key Class Specifications

    • Four-stroke engines only

    • 186cc maximum actual displacement

    • Recognizable production street-mini frame and chassis identity must remain

    • Production-family engine and transmission architecture must remain recognizable

    • Broad conventional engine, suspension, brake, wheel, gearing, and bodywork preparation permitted

    • Automatic-clutch or semiautomatic operation does not change class identity

    • Scooter, moped, step-through, MiniMotard, and purpose-built MiniGP platforms route to their respective classes

    Typical platforms: Honda Grom-style, Kawasaki Z125-style, Benelli TNT135-style, and comparable production street minis.

  • Auto Mini is a platform-first class for recognizable production-derived scooters, purpose-built mopeds, step-through commuters, and commuter-underbones. The class is defined primarily by the underlying machine family—not simply by whether the transmission happens to be automatic.

    Key Class Specifications

    • 125cc maximum two-stroke displacement

    • 200cc maximum four-stroke displacement

    • Eligible platforms may use CVT, automatic, semiautomatic, foot-shift semiautomatic, or manual-clutch operation

    • Broad development permitted while recognizable Auto Mini production-family continuity remains

    • Original engine or transmission is not necessarily required

    • Completely open CVT prohibited; functional drivetrain guarding required

    • No fixed numerical wheel-diameter limit

    • Cross-family, billet, prototype, or materially reconstructed structural engine architectures are outside the class

    Typical platforms: production scooters, purpose-built mopeds, step-through commuters, and commuter-underbones.

  • MiniGP is the SGPRA class for recognizable production purpose-built GP-style MiniMoto road-racing motorcycles. It consolidates eligible Ohvale and comparable production MiniGP platforms into one local class rather than separating them into GP110, GP160, and GP190 registration categories.

    Key Class Specifications

    • Naturally aspirated single-cylinder two-stroke: 90cc maximum

    • Naturally aspirated single-cylinder four-stroke: 190cc maximum

    • Production purpose-built MiniGP chassis required

    • 10-inch or 12-inch competition wheels

    • Manual/sequential transmission required

    • Production-family engine, crankcase, and transmission architecture must remain recognizable

    • Four-stroke minimum ages: through 110cc age 8; over 110cc through 160cc age 9; over 160cc through 190cc age 11

    • Adult-category riders are eligible

    • Street, dirt, pit-bike, scooter, moped, underbone, custom-frame, and full-size machines do not become MiniGP merely through GP-style bodywork or small wheels

    Examples may include: eligible Ohvale, BucciMoto, YCF, BeOn, VMC, Kayo, MIR Racing, and comparable qualifying production MiniGP platforms.

  • MiniMotard is the modified class for recognizable mini dirt-bike, pit-bike, youth-motocross, and supermini platforms converted for paved racing. The class preserves genuine mini/supermini machine identity rather than allowing full-size motocross motorcycles to become MiniMotards simply by fitting smaller wheels.

    Key Class Specifications

    • 112cc maximum two-stroke displacement

    • 170cc maximum four-stroke displacement

    • Recognizable production mini dirt-bike, pit-bike, youth-motocross, or supermini platform required

    • Broad conventional race preparation permitted

    • Machine scale and original production lineage remain important to eligibility

    • Smaller race wheels do not convert a full-size motocross machine into MiniMotard

    • Full-size motocross and Supermoto platforms are excluded

    Typical platforms: qualifying mini dirt bikes, pit bikes, youth-motocross machines, and supermini platforms converted for asphalt competition.

  • MiniMoto Open is a controlled approval class for safe, inspectable, combustion-engine MiniMoto-scale machines that genuinely fall outside the narrower recognized MiniMoto classes. It provides a landing point for compatible outliers without becoming an unrestricted “run what you brung” category.

    Key Class Specifications

    • 125cc maximum two-stroke displacement

    • 260cc maximum four-stroke displacement

    • Written SGPRA approval required before participation

    • MiniMoto scale is judged from the complete machine, not one wheel-size measurement

    • Compatible custom, prototype, reconstructed, cross-family, or specialist-class outliers may receive review

    • A machine clearly eligible for a narrower class must ordinarily enter that class

    • Full-size motorcycles, BicycleMoto, electric machines, pocket bikes, unsafe machines, and above-cap machines are excluded

    • Purpose-built competition, billet, prototype, or non-production structural engine cases are excluded

Supermoto

Full-size motorcycle performance adapted for tight, technical competition.

Supermoto is the SGPRA Bike Category for eligible supermoto-style motorcycles and converted motocross or off-road motorcycles prepared for competition under the applicable SGPRA and AMA technical framework.

The category includes three Bike Classes — SoCal Supermoto 250, SoCal Supermoto 450, and SoCal Supermoto Open — organized around the applicable engine-displacement and cylinder-configuration classes.

  • Supermoto 250 is the smaller-displacement full-size Supermoto class for qualifying single-cylinder two-stroke and four-stroke motorcycles prepared under the applicable AMA Supermoto equipment rules.

    Key Class Specifications

    • 125cc through 144cc two-stroke, single-cylinder

    • 200cc through 250cc four-stroke, single-cylinder

    • Minimum rider age 14

    • Applicable AMA Section 3.8 equipment and preparation requirements apply

    • AMA coolant, fluid-control, tire, chassis, brake, wheel, and inspection provisions apply

    • Machine must satisfy both the displacement configuration and the incorporated technical rules

  • Supermoto 450 is the primary middleweight Supermoto category, covering qualifying two-stroke singles and four-stroke single- or twin-cylinder motorcycles within the AMA-aligned 450 displacement structure.

    Key Class Specifications

    • 125cc through 250cc two-stroke, single-cylinder

    • 250cc through 450cc four-stroke, single- or twin-cylinder

    • Minimum rider age 14

    • Twin-cylinder riders must be at least 17

    • Applicable AMA Section 3.8 equipment and preparation requirements apply

    • AMA coolant, fluid-control, tire, chassis, brake, wheel, and inspection provisions apply

    • Displacement alone does not establish technical eligibility

  • Supermoto Open is the largest-displacement SGPRA Supermoto category. “Open” refers to the permitted AMA-aligned displacement range; it is not an unrestricted-preparation class, and eligible motorcycles remain subject to the incorporated AMA Supermoto equipment rules.

    Key Class Specifications

    • 250cc through open displacement for single-cylinder motorcycles

    • 250cc through 575cc for twin-cylinder motorcycles

    • Minimum rider age 14

    • Twin-cylinder riders must be at least 17

    • Applicable AMA Section 3.8 equipment and preparation requirements apply

    • AMA coolant, fluid-control, tire, chassis, brake, wheel, and inspection provisions apply

    • Open displacement eligibility does not waive the incorporated technical requirements
